FAQs

Who is your training for?

Everyone! I have worked with people are who have never engaged with exercise before and I have worked with professional athletes.

Most of my clients sit somewhere between the two, but my approach stays the same regardless of who I work with - I base their training on what they want to focus on and what they enjoy. If you’re new to exercise then we get to explore together!

What sort of training do you do?

Personal training sessions at home allows you to avoid additional gym membership fees and travel considerations. Instead, you get to train in a place that you feel comfortable in.

A huge amount can be done with body weight and resistance training at home, especially if you’re new to training. I have light to moderate weights that we can use when training and I will incorporate any equipment you have into your plan too.

If you like the idea of leaving the house to exercise, please get in touch as this is something I can facilitate this at several gym spaces around Bristol.

Why Akeso?

Akeso is a Godess of health and healing from Ancient Greek Mythology. More specifically, Akeso represented the healing process. I chose this name to reflect my focus on the process of improving health and wellbeing, rather than an end point of ‘perfect health’.

I really enjoy a combination of strength cardio based training. For me, a mix of the two gives more health benefits, more variation and more enjoyment than overly focussing on one thing.

What that looks like in my own training varies over time, depending on what I am focussing on at that point in time. Consistently this is a mix of strength training blocks and HIIT training however.

For clients this will look similar and will be decided by what they enjoy and what they want to work on.
